Fourteen Locks Canal, Newport, United Kingdom

I went to this place purely because one of my friends here in UK recommended and told me that the houses were posh. It is 2.2 miles away from my residence so I just braved myself with the unknown path and mustered the courage to just walk the short miles. It wasn’t as exciting and as inviting as Belle Vue which I still consider as one of the best parks I have been to in this country. There’s very few benches to sit on, there is a cycling path but a very short one at that. There is a small lake at the middle of it which I think is the highlight of the place, ducks are swimming on it which I don’t get to see a lot in other parks. The trees are thick on some of the foot path and so like all of the parks in this country, there is a healthy amount of chirping birds and that cooling sound of wind and leaves. If you are looking for a long hike and a feast for your eyes, Fourteen locks is not your cup of tea. But if you live just around the area and is looking for an easy walk out, and debrief from social media and the confines of your house, this one might cut it.
